Motorcyclist Injured in Torrance Accident
TORRANCE, Calif. (Nov. 6, 2018) – A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday morning in a collision with a vehicle in Torrance.
The crash took place about 7:25 a.m. at 190th and Beryl streets, the Torrance Police Department said.
A 27-year-old man in a 2017 Honda Accord was heading westbound on 190th Street when he started to turn left onto southbound Beryl and struck the motorcyclist who was traveling eastbound.

The 56-year-old Redondo Beach man who was riding the bike suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The man in the Honda was not injured, but a 22-year-old Gardena woman who was a passenger in his vehicle was transported to a hospital to be checked out.
Police do not suspect drugs and or alcohol were factors.
Under California law, drivers who are making turns must yield the right-of-way to oncoming motorists or in this case the motorcyclist had the right-of-way.
Police are heading up an investigation into the cause of this crash and will examine the evidence at the scene, take measurements and speak to those involved as well as witnesses. The injured rider may have grounds for a personal injury claim based on the final determination of fault.
