VICTORVILLE, California (December 6, 2016) – A motorcyclist was left injured after avoiding a wrong-way driver near the intersection of Bear Valley Road and 7th Avenue on Monday evening, according to Victor Valley News.
The collision was reported at approximately 7:10 p.m., directly in front of the Food 4 Less grocery store.
As per the article, a witness said a 20-year-old man was riding a blue and white Suzuki west on Bear Valley Road when he laid his bike down in an attempt to avoid the eastbound motorist traveling in the westbound lanes.
The rider was found down in the roadway following the incident. He was taken to Desert Valley Medical Center with minor scrapes and elbow pain.
The victim, whose name was not disclosed, was wearing appropriate protective gear at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, the alleged wrong-way driver did not stop and continued heading in an unknown direction. Authorities will continue to investigate.
