Motorcycle Rider and Truck Collide on SR-91 Freeway

LONG BEACH, Calif., (November 5, 2026) — A two-vehicle collision on the Artesia 91 Freeway East at Downey Avenue in Long Beach resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

The fatal crash occurred on Nov. 4th at approximately 6:17 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a motorcycle and a white truck, with the motorcyclist reportedly ending up underneath the truck in traffic lanes. The collision blocked the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane, causing significant traffic disruptions.

Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Despite their efforts, the motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by 6:55 p.m. The coroner was subsequently notified.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Long Beach Fire Department were involved in managing the incident and clearing the area. Tow services were initially requested but later canceled as the responders worked to manage the situation.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are seeking witnesses who may have seen what transpired. Any additional information from the public could prove crucial in understanding the dynamics of this tragic event.
