Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on I-215 Freeway, Near Palm Avenue in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, CA (May 29, 2025) — A fatal crash between a motorcycle and an SUV brought traffic to a standstill on southbound I-215 Freeway near Palm Avenue in San Bernardino, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash occurred just after 1:00 p.m. on May 29th, between a gray Ford SUV and a motorcycle. Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was fatally injured after being thrown and striking the center divider.

All southbound lanes of I-215 were temporarily shut down as emergency personnel responded, and Caltrans workers deployed cones to manage traffic control. By 1:31 p.m., investigators were taking roadway measurements, with CHP noting that at least one lane would reopen within 15 minutes. An evidence tow was requested, and the vehicle was later removed by Edwin’s Tow.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no other injuries were reported at the scene.
