Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Big Rig on I-10 Freeway in Fontana

FONTANA, Calif. (June 5, 2025) — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon in a collision involving a big rig on eastbound Interstate 10 just west of Citrus Avenue in Fontana.
According to the California Highway Patrol the crash occurred at approximately 4:47 p.m. on June 4th and prompted a full closure of all eastbound lanes for several hours. Dispatch records indicate that the motorcycle rider was down in the No. 2 lane and that the collision blocked lanes 1, 2, and 3. The semi-truck involved reportedly had a Maine license plate and was pulling a trailer.
Emergency crews, including fire personnel and CHP officers, responded quickly, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. A SigAlert was issued as traffic came to a standstill while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was contacted to dispatch the coroner, who arrived later in the evening. By 8:00 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
Edwins Towing transported the motorcycle for evidence processing, and CHP investigators are continuing to determine the cause of the crash.
No other injuries were reported. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
