PASADENA, California (January 1, 2017) – A motorcyclist was killed after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Fair Oaks Avenue and Washington Boulevard early Sunday, according to San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The accident occurred at 4:39 a.m.
As per the article, Pasadena police said a 57-year-old Altadena man was riding a motorcycle south on Fair Oaks Avenue when a 2006 BMW X3 made a left turn in front of him.
The rider then collided with the car and was ejected from his bike. He was immediately transported to an area hospital where he later died.
His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile police affirmed that the driver of the BMW, 42-year-old Shawn Antonio, was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
Antonio, of Pasadena, has a previous conviction for DUI.
