BURBANK, California (September 21, 2016) — A motorcycle rider was injured Wednesday morning in a collision with another vehicle on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway at North Hollywood Way, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place in the HOV and No. 1 lanes about 8:15 a.m. this morning. The rider’s black and white Kawasaki motorcycle suffered damage to its undercarriage and required towing from the scene. Several vehicles stopped to help the rider and the Burbank and Los Angeles Fire Departments responded to the scene.
A SigAlert was issued for the collision due to heavy traffic.

There were 585 people killed and 50,917 injured in 2013 traffic accidents in Los Angeles County, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide integrated Traffic Report. In the city of Burbank, there were 5 deaths and 630 injured that year including 33 motorcyclists injured, the CHP statistics report said.
