Semi-Truck Overturns on I-15 Freeway
MOUNTAIN PASS, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2021) — A Mountain Pass truck accident Thursday morning happened on the Interstate 15 Barstow Freeway, police said.
A semi-truck overturned onto its side in a collision with a gray Lexus SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported the SUV was in the No. 1 lane and the truck fell onto its driver’s side about 20 feet off the roadway on the right shoulder. The truck driver was stuck between his steering wheel and seatbelt and needed help getting out of the cab.
It’s unknown if either driver suffered injuries in the Mountain Pass truck accident. However, at least one ambulance responded to the scene.
Caltrans closed down the No. 3 lane so that the semi-truck could be recovered.
Investigators will seek to determine the cause of the Mountain Pass truck accident and liability.
