4-Vehicle Crash; Truck Overturned on 5 Freeway
BURBANK, Calif. (August 18, 2023) — A box truck and three cars collided in an accident on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway on Friday morning near East Burbank Boulevard.
The four-vehicle collision occurred around 9:43 a.m. Also, the box truck overturned onto its side in the crash with three other vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol. The report stated a box truck was in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes and a blue vehicle was up against the center divide wall. A BMW had major right-side damage and a silver Honda Accord had front-end damage.
Police issued a SigAlert for roughly an hour due to the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes being blocked by the vehicles.
The Burbank Fire Department responded to help those injured, however, there are no further details.
Police are investigating what led to the Burbank accident on the 5 Freeway as well as liability.
