Several Injured in Overnight Multi-Vehicle Crash on 210 Freeway in Azusa
AZUSA, Calif. (Dec. 23, 2025) — Several people were injured early Tuesday morning when a violent multi-vehicle crash involving five cars shut down most lanes of the eastbound 210 Freeway in Azusa.
The collision occurred just before 1:40 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway near Citrus Avenue, according to preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol. CHP later confirmed that five vehicles were involved in the pileup.
Authorities have not released an official injury count, but reports from news stringer service KNN indicated that four to five people were transported to area hospitals. The Los Angeles County Fire Department, which also responded to the scene, confirmed that three people were taken to hospitals with injuries described as unknown in severity.
Images from the scene showed multiple vehicles with extensive damage, underscoring the force of the crash. Heavy fog was reported in the area at the time of the collision, though investigators have not yet determined whether weather or other factors contributed.
The crash caused major traffic disruptions, forcing officials to close all but one eastbound lane of the 210 Freeway for several hours while emergency crews worked to assist victims and clear debris.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
