Four-Vehicle Collision Causes Delays on I-238 South Near Ashland
ASHLAND, CA (March 6, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on the southbound Interstate 238 Freeway happened Thursday morning, just north of Ashland Avenue in Alameda County.
The collision, which involved several vehicles, occurred just before 7:45 AM on March 6th, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision involved several drivers of a black Subaru Crosstrek, a white Honda Accord, and a red Honda, and a Toyota Corolla, the report said. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Paramedics responded due to injuries, including a child from one of the involved vehicles who may have been hurt, the report said.
The accident forced the closure of the No. 1 lane, creating significant traffic congestion. CHP quickly responded to the scene and requested towing services to clear the vehicles from the roadway.
A red Toyota Camry appeared to have significant damage and was among those towed from the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. For the safety of all motorists, the CHP also reminds drivers to stay alert, maintain a safe following distance, and avoid distractions while driving.
