3-Vehicle Crash on the Interstate 405 Freeway Near Fairview Road
COSTA MESA, Calif. (August 22, 2022) — A three-vehicle Costa Mesa crash happened Monday on the southbound Interstate 405 Freeway, just south of Fairview Road.
The collision occurred about 6:51 a.m. on August 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials say the drivers of a red Lexus, a black Ford Mustang and a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck collided in the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the freeway. A witness told authorities the driver in the Mustang allegedly caused the crash between the three motorists.
The Costa Mesa Fire Department responded to the scene after authorities noted at least one person suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed all three of the vehicles and police are heading up an investigation into the accident.
