Multi-Vehicle Crash 170 Freeway, Riverside Drive Near Valley Village

VALLEY VILLAGE, Calif., (July 31, 2026) — A multi-vehicle collision involving a white Mercedes van, a Volkswagen, and a GMC occurred Friday on the southbound side of the 170 Freeway, near Riverside Drive in the Valley Village area of Los Angeles.
The incident was reported on July 31st at approximately 11:50 a.m. with vehicles blocking lanes on the left shoulder and partially in lane No. 1. Traffic was severely impacted as emergency responders arrived at the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 50-year-old woman had complaints of head pain following the crash and was located inside the white Mercedes van. Paramedics were requested to provide medical assistance, and the condition of the woman remains undisclosed at this time. The incident log indicated that a front wheel was missing from an involved SUV, and a white sedan was also immovable.
The roadway was eventually cleared with the assistance of Keystone Tow, which dispatched two trucks to the scene. The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, who are actively seeking any witnesses to provide further information regarding the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
