Multi-Vehicle Crash 280 Freeway, Vista Point Near San Carlos

Minor-Injury Collision on I-280/Junipero Serra Freeway

SAN CARLOS, Calif. (May 12, 2025) — A crash involving three vehicles happened Monday on the Interstate 280 Freeway, near Vista Point in the San Carlos area, just south of San Mateo.

The multi-vehicle collision occurred on the northbound Junipero Serra Freeway around 10:16 a.m. on May 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a Hummer and two other motorists were involved and at least one person had complaints of neck and back pain following the traffic accident.

Paramedics responded with an ambulance and emergency responders and the disabled vehicles were blocking the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the Junipero Serra (280) Freeway.

Tow trucks eventually removed the damaged vehicles and investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 280 Freeway in San Carlos.
