Multi-Vehicle Crash at Athens Avenue Near Thunder Valley Casino Resort

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2026) — A crash involving three vehicles happened Monday afternoon at Athens Avenue and Thunder Valley Court in the Lincoln area near the Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 12:19 p.m. on Aug. 10th, just south of Lincoln in Placer County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a white 2000 Honda Civic sedan, a gold Honda Pilot, and a white Ford Expedition SUV were involved and blocking eastbound left-turn lanes on Athens Avenue. The cause of the crash is unknown; however, the Expedition had front-end damage and was towed.
Paramedics responded with an ambulance to transport at least one person with minor injuries and complaints of pain to the hospital.
The cause of the crash and liability is under investigation.
