2 Hospitalized, 5 Vehicle Crash in Rancho Mirage
RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2018) — Two people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon at Bob Hope Drive and Country Club Drive.
The crash was reported at 3:48 p.m. on Oct. 31 in Rancho Mirage.
The local police department responded to the scene where several vehicles including a Ford Expedition SUV had collided.
Police say the Ford Expedition was allegedly speeding northbound on Bob Hope Drive and sideswiped four other vehicles before hitting a traffic signal light pole. The vehicle came to rest on the north curb of Country Club Drive.
Paramedics responded and transported the driver of the Expedition and another driver whose vehicle was sideswiped to a local hospital with a complaint of pain.
Police are investigating the crash to determine whether drugs and or alcohol were factors.

Police are reviewing the evidence and any witness statements in an effort to confirm the driver who is at fault for this collision. The driver in the Ford Expedition appears to be at fault based on the facts in the police report. The investigation will seek to confirm this by looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of the vehicles, skid marks, and gouge marks.
