Multi-Vehicle Crash Highway 49, Auburn Road in Alta Sierra

Pickup Overturns Golden Chain Highway 49, Nevada County

NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2024) — A pickup truck overturned in a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound Highway 49 on Thursday at Auburn Road in Alta Sierra.

The three-vehicle collision occurred amid “very icy road conditions” at around 6:09 a.m. on Jan. 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers of a white Ford F-350 pickup truck, a black Honda sedan and another vehicle were involved. The pickup truck overturned onto its roof and was blocking the roadway.

Meanwhile, five or six other vehicles pulled over to help those involved and someone called 911 for police and paramedics.

It’s unknown how many were hurt or taken to the hospital at this time.

Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 49 in Alta Sierra.
