Traffic Collision on Southbound I-5 Near Sheldon Street Causes Significant Delays

Los Angeles, CA (March 12, 2025) – A multi-vehicle traffic crash happened early Wednesday morning on southbound I-5 Freeway near Sheldon Street in the Sun Valley area of Los Angeles.

Five or six vehicles were involved in the crash including one which overturned and was blocking multiple lanes of traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Also, the accident prompted a SigAlert and caused significant traffic delays before the scene was cleared.

The collision, reported at approximately 6:10 AM on March 12th, involved a white Jeep Cherokee which overturned on its side and was among the vehicles blocking the fourth, fifth, and sixth lanes of the southbound I-5 freeway.

CHP deputies and the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded with firefighters arriving around 6:10 AM, but fortunately, there were no major injuries or fire incidents.

Several traffic lanes were closed for cleanup and investigation as emergency responders worked to clear the wreckage from the crash on the freeway in Sun Valley.

Furthermore, the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Authorities urge drivers to remain vigilant and exercise caution when traveling through the area, especially during peak commute times.

Finally, the crash served as a reminder to motorists to stay alert on busy highways, especially during early morning hours when road conditions can change rapidly.
