
Multi-Car Crash on I-280 Near San Jose
Santa Clara County, Calif. (March 15, 2023) — A multi-vehicle car accident happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 280 Freeway, just south of the Magdalena Avenue in Loyola, Santa Clara County
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes of the I-280 about 8:43 a.m. on March 15th, just west of San Jose, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers involved included an Audi SUV, a black 2010 Chevrolet Suburban, a white 4-door sedan and a white 4-door sedan. The vehicles were blocking the three right lanes of the I-280. Also, smoke was coming from one of the vehicles and the Audi suffered major rear-end damage and a broken left-rear tire, the report said.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but there were no further details.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed at least one of the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
