3-Vehicle Crash Involving Injuries on I-5 in Solana Beach
SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (August 9, 2023) — At least two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway Wednesday morning in Solana Beach.
The three-vehicle collision occurred around 8:26 a.m. on August 9th, near Lomas Santa Fe Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a black, older-model Jeep Cherokee, a white Honda Civic and a black Dodge Ram pickup truck were involved. The Jeep became disabled after the crash in traffic lanes, the truck was on the right side blocking the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes and the Honda pulled to the left side.
Someone called 911 to report the crash and request an ambulance. One person suffered minor injuries and another had major injuries.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 5 Freeway in Solana Beach.
