2 Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Crash in East County
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2019) — Two people were hospitalized Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on the westbound Interstate 8 Freeway in East County.
The crash took place about 11 a.m. on the I-8 Freeway, near Johnson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a white sports car reportedly crashed into the center divider and overturned. The vehicle also collided with another vehicle and caused several other cars to crash as well. A total of five cars were involved in the serious of crashes, CHP dispatchers were told.
Paramedics transported two people to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.
One vehicle was blocking the No. 2 lane, but the others managed to get over to the right-hand shoulder.
