4-Vehicle Collision on I-880 in Fremont
FREMONT, Calif. (August 21, 2024) — A multi-vehicle crash on the Interstate 880 Freeway happened Wednesday morning near Fremont Boulevard in Fremont.
The four-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the Nimitz Freeway at around 5:56 a.m. on August 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers of a grey Tesla Model X SUV, a white Chevrolet Volt, a white Sprinter van and a big rig truck were involved in the collision, the report said.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision that left the Tesla with moderate front and rear-end damage near the express and fast lanes. Meanwhile, the truck and van both pulled to the right side of the freeway.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with minor injuries and another with complaints of pain.
A tow truck removed the Tesla from the freeway and investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the Interstate 880 Freeway in Fremont.
