Multi-Vehicle Crash on Harbor 110 Freeway Near Torrance Boulevard in Carson
One Injured in Collision on I-110 Freeway
WEST CARSON, Calif. (August 20, 2026) — A multi-vehicle crash in West Carson on southbound Interstate 110 Freeway near Torrance Boulevard sent at least one person to the hospital Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch information.
The collision was first reported on August 20th at approximately 7:51 a.m. after a red Mazda was reported blocking the No. 2 lane of southbound I-110 near Torrance Boulevard.
Initial reports indicated that a red Mazda, a black Range Rover, and another vehicle were involved in the collision. The California Highway Patrol and Freeway Service Patrol responded to the scene.
The Freeway Service Patrol assisted with moving the vehicles to the roadside, and by approximately 7:54 a.m., one vehicle remained blocking the roadway while another had been moved onto the shoulder.
Injured Person Taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
At approximately 8:23 a.m., CHP upgraded the incident from a collision with no reported injuries to a traffic collision involving an injury with an ambulance en route. A short time later, one patient was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center with a CHP officer accompanying the ambulance.
The crash caused a temporary traffic disruption on southbound I-110. The Freeway Service Patrol later closed its incident after the vehicles were removed from the travel lanes.
The circumstances leading up to the crash and the extent of the person’s injuries were not immediately available. The collision remains under investigation by CHP.
