Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-205 Freeway Transition to Interstate 5 in Lathrop

LATHROP, Calif., (Sept. 23, 2026) — A multi-vehicle traffic collision happened on the Interstate 205 Freeway East at the transition to the Interstate 5 North in Lathrop, resulting in major damage to the vehicles.

The collision occurred on Sept. 22nd at approximately 10:08 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident logs. The report stated that a black 2006 Nissan Sentra collided with a white Toyota Venza and an unidentified third vehicle in the eastbound lanes west of the Interstate 5 North connection.

All lanes were reportedly blocked temporarily due to debris, including a pallet and bumper, scattered across the roadway. Paramedics were at the scene, but it’s unknown how many were injured.

Three to four vehicles were involved, and reports indicate that at least one vehicle was emitting smoke. Responding units managed to clear the scene with the assistance of tow services, including Patriot Tow and Friendly Tow, to remove the damaged vehicles, including a blue Honda and the aforementioned Nissan Sentra.

The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, who are asking for any witnesses to come forward to provide additional insights into the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
