Box Truck Involved in Car Accident on Bridge
SAN MATEO, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2024) — A multi-vehicle crash happened Thursday morning on the San Mateo Hayward Bridge, just east of Foster City.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the westbound SR-92 at around 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the crash involved a Dodge Ram pickup truck, as well as a driver in a maroon Mercedes that was rear-ended by a white box truck
Paramedics responded to the scene to help those injured, but there are no further details. There was a 5-year-old child in the pickup truck, but it’s unknown if they were injured.
Tow trucks removed the Mercedes and the box truck due to rear-end and front-end damage respectively.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on State Route 92.
