Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-15 South Near Del Lago

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2025) — A five-vehicle Escondido crash happened Friday morning on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 15 Freeway, just south of Del Lago Drive.

The 7:39 a.m. collision on Feb. 28th, caused significant traffic delays when several vehicles collided and blocked the fast lane and HOV lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One of the vehicles involved was a black sedan, which collided with a white BMW, the report said.

The CHP responded to the scene, however, more vehicles became involved and requests were made for three flatbed tow trucks to clear the scene.

A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash, but the roadway was eventually cleared by 8:03 a.m., police said.

It’s unknown if there were injuries and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously and stay alert, especially in areas with heavy traffic.
