Multi-Vehicle Hit-and-run Crash in Jamestown on Highway 108, Near J-59

Suspect Arrested | Mother’s Day Collision in Jamestown
Jamestown, CA (May 13, 2025) — Two people were injured and a third person was arrested after a crash involving five vehicles on Sunday afternoon on Highway 108, just east of J-59.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 1:25 p.m. on May 11th, 2025, according to the MyMotherLode.
Noah Grunewald, 42, of Sonora, was driving westbound on SR-108 in a 2002 Toyota Sienna when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the vehicle to veer across the center line into the path of an oncoming 2018 GMC Canyon driven by Jared Whitney of Manteca.
The two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, and three other vehicles behind both motorists crashed into them.
Kimberly Geforosterzoli and Debra Svorinich Injured in Crash
Kimberly Geforosterzoli of San Pedro, and her passenger, Debra Svorinich of Twain Harte, were riding in a 2023 Mazda CX-5 that became part of the multi-vehicle accident. Paramedics rushed both of them to hospitals in the Central Valley area due to injuries.
Two other motorists were involved, Jobert Verceles of Soulsbyville in a 2016 Chevy Silverado, and Vanessa Smith of Sonora in a 2015 Hyundai Accent.
Meanwhile, Noah Grunewald fled the scene on foot, but he didn’t get far as he was followed by witnesses.
The CHP caught up with the suspect and booked him into the Dambacher Detention Center. He was charged with a violation of Felony Hit and Run (causing injuries).
Authorities do not suspect drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash.
