Collision on State Route 156 Causes Minor Injuries | Traffic Delays
Hollister, CA (April 18, 2025) — A multi-vehicle crash caused lane closures Friday afternoon on westbound Highway 156 near Buena Vista Road in Hollister, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision happened around 12:50 p.m. on April 18th and initially involved a white flatbed truck and a gray sedan. However, a green pickup and a black SUV were also possibly involved in the crash.
One of the vehicles was reportedly carrying between 15,000 and 20,000 pounds of metal pallets, prompting CHP officers to request multiple tow trucks, including a medium-duty tow for a box truck with front-end damage.
A light pole was also knocked down in the collision, leading to partial lane closures as crews from Caltrans and a local utility company responded to secure the area.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene, and the incident was later reclassified as a minor injury collision. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed, but no fatalities were reported.
By 1:44 p.m., all westbound lanes had reopened, and the scene was cleared.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy Office.
