
Major Injury Crash on State Route 99 in Merced
MERCED, Calif. (July 25, 2024) — A multi-vehicle car accident in Merced happened Thursday morning on northbound Highway 99, just south of R Street.
The seven-vehicle collision occurred at around 5:05 a.m. on July 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported an 18-foot box truck loaded with 12,000 pounds of food was involved and had front-end damage. Also, two of the vehicles involved were stuck together and had to be separated to be removed from the scene.
The driver of a white Nissan Altima suffered major injuries in the collision. Paramedics responded and transported the person to a hospital.
It’s unknown if others were injured in the Highway 99 accident in Merced, however, investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
