Minor Injury Collision on I-880
OAKLAND, Calif. (July 7, 2023) — A multi-vehicle Oakland crash happened Thursday on the Interstate 880 Freeway, just south of the Broadway off-ramp.
The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the I-880 around 5:34 a.m. on July 6th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Toyota RAV4 SUV, a red Honda Fit, a black Toyota Corolla, and a fourth vehicle were involved. The Honda and the Toyota sedan both sustained major front-end damage, while the Toyota SUV had both major front and rear end damage.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with minor injuries after the collision, but it’s unknown if anyone was hospitalized.
Meanwhile, Tow trucks removed the two Toyotas and the Honda from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on the 880 Freeway.
