8-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 5 Freeway in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2022) — A collision in Santa Ana involving roughly eight vehicles happened Tuesday morning on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Broadway.
The crash occurred about 9:04 a.m. on Sept. 27th, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers involved included a silver Honda Accord, a red Honda Civic, a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a black Scion, a gray Ford sedan, a white Toyota Corolla and a white Hyundai Sonata. The CHP report stated a tire fell off the Sprinter van during the crash and the vehicles blocked the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but there are no specific details.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine liability.
