Two Semi-Trucks, Cars Collide on Highway 101
GREENFIELD, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2022) — A multi-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks and at least two cars happened Friday morning on Highway 101 in Greenfield.
The collision occurred about 5:35 a.m. on Oct. 7th, just north of Underwood Road in Monterey County, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Two semi-trucks were involved in a collision, followed by a black Honda and a white Honda Accord that collided with the trucks due to unknown circumstances. One of the semi-trucks was a septic service tanker with its cab destroyed, but it’s tank was intact. The other truck sent off the road and overturned onto its side.
At least one person became trapped in a vehicle because it’s doors wouldn’t open.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed the two trucks and two cars from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
