Big Rig Truck Overturns Crashes into Vehicles on I-215 Freeway
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (March 9, 2022) — A semi-tractor trailer truck overturned Wednesday morning in an accident on the Interstate 215 Freeway.
The multi-vehicle crash happened about 10 a.m. on March 9th, according to the the California Highway Patrol.
A tractor-trailer truck overturned on the Riverside freeway and collided with three other vehicles including an Audi and two SUVs, police said.
The collision happened in the middle of the southbound lanes of the I-215 Freeway, near University Avenue, CHP officials said.
Police are looking into the circumstances leading up to the crash and it remains under investigation.
The Riverside Fire Department sent emergency medical crews to the scene. They treated at least one motorist for unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, all traffic lanes were blocked by vehicles and authorities issued a Sigalert due to the ensuing traffic jam.
Finally, the CHP is heading up an investigation into liability for the truck accident on the 215 Freeway.
