5-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 605 Freeway
WHITTIER, Calif. (Dec. 8, 2023) — A multi-vehicle crash in Whittier happened Friday morning on the Interstate 605 Freeway at the transition to State Route 60.
The collision occurred in the southbound lanes at around 10:43 a.m. on Dec. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported five vehicles including a Ford Explorer, a black Honda Accord, a white Toyota Prius, a black Cadillac SUV, and a gray Toyota Camry sedan. The cars were blocking the fast lane and the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the southbound 605 Freeway.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help those injured including one person from the Toyota Prius who needed an ambulance for undisclosed injuries. The person was taken to Beverly hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, at least two of the vehicles were towed from the freeway due to damage.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Whittier crash on the 605 Freeway.
