Student Riding Bicycle Injured in Crash at Murrieta Intersection
MURRIETA, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2024) — A student riding a bicycle was injured in a collision with a minivan Thursday afternoon at Pourroy Road and High Vista Drive in Murrieta.
The minor injury crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Cal Fire Riverside sent paramedics to the intersection and located the injured student who required an ambulance.
Meanwhile, the driver involved appears to have stopped and cooperated with authorities.
“There are no marked bicycle lanes at this intersection, but there is a stop sign for traffic entering Pourroy Road from High Vista Drive,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Also, drivers passing a person on a bike are required under California law to give riders three feet for safety.”
It’s unknown what led up to this collision, but the case remains under investigation to determine fault.
