Bicyclist, 43, Killed in Murrieta Crash on Washington Avenue
MURRIETA (December 4, 2017) – A 43-year-old bicyclist was killed in a traffic accident on Washington Avenue Sunday evening, according to the Press Enterprise.
Investigators determined that bicyclist and a white Pontiac van were both traveling north on Washington, when for unknown reasons the two collided.
Shortly after 5:57 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site, between Lemon Street and Davenport Way. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the male bicycle rider who appeared to be seriously hurt.
The injured man was rushed to Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar with head injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The name of the fatality is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Pontiac was reportedly unharmed in the crash. Further investigation is ongoing at this time to determine the precise cause of the collision.
