1 Killed, 2 Badly Injured in Murrieta Crash at Lily and Jefferson Avenues
MURRIETA, CA (August 20, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and badly injured two others at Lily and Jefferson avenues in Murrieta.
According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on August 16 at about 1:40 p.m.
The incident happened when a Nissan Versa was going north on Jefferson Avenue, approaching Lily Avenue, in Murrieta. At the same time, a BMW 550i sedan was traveling west on Lily.
Police said the BMW then began making a turn onto southbound Jefferson. In the process, the sedan collided with the Nissan in the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then extricated a trapped female passenger of the Nissan from the wreckage.
Medical personnel soon took her to the Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where she died. The drivers of the BMW and the Nissan sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police forced the area of Lily and Jefferson avenues to shut down for hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Murrieta crash is still under investigation.
