Carbone’s Sister, 10, Critically Injured
MURRIETA, California (March 31, 2016) – A teenage girl was killed and her sister was critically injured in a solo-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Jefferson Avenue, north of Juniper Street, as per The Press Enterprise.
According to the article, William Patrick Causer was driving the car at about 45 mph when he struck a pole without braking around 7:45 a.m.
A passenger, 15-year-old Rialto resident Summer Carbone, was found on the sidewalk following the collision. She was rushed Rancho Springs Medical Center where she later died.
Carbone‘s 10-year-old sister was also hospitalized and listed in critical condition. She and her sister were not wearing seat belts at the time.
As per The Press Enterprise, airbags deployed in the front of the car where Carbone‘s mother, Rebekah Joy Davis, was seated. She and Causer were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Causer claimed he had fallen asleep during the incident. He, along with the victim’s mother, will be charged with multiple felonies upon their release as drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
