MUSCOY, California (Sunday, September 20, 2015) – A blue SUV with three occupants was struck on Friday afternoon in a traffic collision with a suspect fleeing police in a beige Chevrolet Tahoe, driving the wrong way on the northbound Interstate 215 Freeway. The suspect, Nicholas Alan Johnson, 32, had evaded capture in a police authorized traffic stop that had been designed to capture him, after a home invasion the day before. Johnson led police on a high speed chase before jumping from his moving vehicle and running away. He was shot to death as he ran. However his vehicle struck the blue SUV, injuring three occupants. The male adult and male juvenile occupants were treated and released at a local hospital. The female adult however remained at the hospital to recover from her injuries.
The accident occurred at about 12:49 p.m.
