Nadhir Ghuzi, 31, ID’d as Suspect in Fairfield DUI Hit-and-Run Crash
FAIRFIELD, CA (October 20, 2021) – Authorities detained Nadhir Ghuzi after a fatal DUI hit-and-run crash near Texas and Wisconsin streets in Fairfield.
Police believed that the 31-year-odl Fairfield man was under the influence when the collision happened on Tuesday evening.
The incident began when Nadhir Muftah Ghuzi was driving a Nissan SUV near the intersection of North Texas and Wisconsin streets in Fairfield.
Police said his car struck a 53-year-old Fairfield man riding a bicycle in the area. The Reporter and CBS Sacramento wrote that the accident took place on October 19 shortly before 7 p.m.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the bicyclist down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Nadhir Ghuzi did not stop to render aid to the rider and fled the area. They arrested him on suspicion of multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
Officers charged Nadhir Ghuzi with DUI causing bodily injury, hit-and-run causing death or injury and a probation violation for a previous DUI conviction, all felonies.
They booked into Solano County Jail on having a blood-alcohol level greater than the legal limit of .08 percent. The Fairfield hit-and-run is still under investigation.
