Fresno County Sheriff’s Patrol Car Hits Woman
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2023) – Nadine Rodriguez, 68, died Thursday morning when a Fresno County Sheriff’s patrol car struck her on Highway 180 and Siskiyou Avenue in Kerman.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office deputy hit the woman at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16th due to unknown circumstances.
She was later identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities reported Nadine Rodriguez was walking across the highway in the dark at the time an eastbound on-duty Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy struck her in his vehicle.
The deputy immediately stopped and rendered first aid to the injured woman, but she died at the scene of the collision.
Investigators are working to determine what factors led to the crash, but early indications are that low visibility was possibly a factor in the fatal Kerman crash.
A CHP spokesperson noted there was a city light that was inoperable in the area.
The case remains under investigation to determine fault for the pedestrian accident.
