Pedestrian Killed in Santa Ana Crash is Identified
SANTA ANA, Calif. (December 14, 2020) – Nanci Perea Rosales, 69, died Sunday night after she was struck by a vehicle on First Street in Santa Ana.
Police officers were sent to the crash scene about 7:13 p.m., according to The Orange County Register,
It’s unknown why the vehicle struck the pedestrian on First Street. The driver struck the woman just east of Bristol Street.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene where they located the pedestrian lying in the roadway shortly after the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the person dead at the scene. The name of the woman who died was released on the Orange County Sheriff Coroner website.
Meanwhile, police confirmed that the driver did stop after the crash. Initially, this collision was reported as a hit-and-run. Now authorities are piecing together evidence to determine fault. Alcohol was not considered to be a factor.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the Santa Ana crash, but police are investigating. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 714-245-8219.
