Driver Arrested After Injury Collision Near Taplin Road Monday
Napa County, CA (February 21, 2022) – Police took into custody a 17-year-old male involved in a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on Silverado Trail early Monday.
The Napa Valley Register News reported the teenager was behind the wheel of a 2004 Honda traveling south on Silverado Trail, just east of St. Helena. Officials said the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the area near Taplin Road. Subsequently, the teenager lost control of the car and veered off the edge of the roadway.
The accident took place at about 12:45 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the Honda disabled in a dirt and grass embankment. Officials said the car struck a metal guardrail, and slammed into a barbed-wire fence before coming to a rest.

Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all the occupants in the Honda. After the evaluation, rescue teams confirmed they transported three passengers to the hospital for treatment of minor to major injuries. Personal information on the victims remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
According to the article published online, officers detained the driver at the scene. Investigators later learned the 17-year-old motorist was intoxicated at the time of the collision.
Further investigation is ongoing on the major car accident on Silverado Trail in Napa County.
