2 Seriously Injured in Napa County Head-On Crash on Highway 12/121
NAPA COUNTY, CA (August 30, 2021) – Two were seriously injured after a head-on crash on Highway 12/121 in Napa County.
According to an article published by The Napa Valley Register, the accident took place late Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:18 p.m.
The incident began when a Honda Civic was going west on Highway 12/121 toward Sonoma County. At the same time, a Dodge Charger was traveling east toward Napa County.
For an unknown reason, the Honda spun out of control and struck a guardrail. The California Highway Patrol said the Civic then slammed into the Dodge near the intersection with Haire Lane.
2 Cars Collide Near Haire Lane
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, west of the Domaine Carneros winery. They found both drivers who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
A helicopter took the man driving the Honda while a ground ambulance transported the motorist in the Charger. Both patients ended up rushed to the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Officials did not disclose their names and condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 12/121 to shut down in both directions for more than two hours following the head-on collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Napa County crash.
