1 Injured in Napa DUI Hit-and-Run Crash at Yount and Main Streets
NAPA, CA (October 7, 2021) – One was injured after a DUI hit-and-run crash at Yount Street and Main Street in Napa.
According to an article published by The Napa Valley Register, the accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:34 p.m.
The incident happened on October 5 when a car was going east on Yount Street, approaching Main Street, in Napa. At the same time, another vehicle was traveling south on Main.
Police said the eastbound car then ran a stop sign at the intersection. In the process, its female driver slammed into the southbound vehicle.
Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Another Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They treated the motorist in the victim car for the minor injuries they sustained as a result of the collision.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the woman who caused the incident did not stop to help and fled southbound.
She abandoned her vehicle and fled on foot into a backyard in the 1800 block of Main Street. Police soon located her and determined she was under the influence of alcohol.
They arrested the suspect on felony DUI causing injury and leaving the scene of an injury accident. Officers forced the area of Yount and Main streets to shut down following the wreck.
The Napa DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
