Infant, Several Others Badly Hurt in Car Crash Near Napa Valley Corporate Way
Napa, CA (May 9, 2022) – Five people, including an infant, suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on Highway 221.
Major Chain-Reaction Collision on Highway 221 in Napa
The Napa Valley Register News reported multiple vehicles collided on the highway just south of Napa Valley Corporate Way. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Acura RDX slammed into the back of a 2021 Ram 1500 pickup. According to the article published online, the driver of the Acura, a 61-year-old San Francisco man, apparently failed to slow down as he approached slowing traffic on the highway.
Due to the force from the impact, the Ram was pushed and rear-ended a 2007 Toyota Highlander. The chain reaction collision also involved a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus.
Emergency crews arrived at the accident scene shortly after 2:40 p.m. First responders immediately checked the conditions of all people found at the scene. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed as many as five people sustained injuries and required treatment at the hospital. Officials only identified the patients as the driver of the Acura; an 87-year-old female passenger; 53-year-old Vallejo woman; a 68-year-old woman; and 6-month-old boy.
Several factors surrounding the multi-car crash remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the collision on Highway 221 in Napa.
