2 Injured After Car Crash at 2nd and Jefferson Streets

September 12, 2018 – An officer, and another person were injured in a traffic collision in the area of 2nd and Jefferson streets, according to Napa Valley Register.
The accident happened on September 8, Saturday.

Authorities said a Napa police officer crashed a patrol car into another vehicle while responding to a report of a fight and foot chase in the area. Both vehicles sustained major damage after the impact.
When emergency teams arrived at the accident scene, they found one officer and three parties in the civilian vehicle. Primary reports indicated the officer was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical with a complaint of pain.
Furthermore, at least one person in the civilian vehicle was also hospitalized for treatment of unspecified injuries sustained in the wreck.
The California Highway Patrol is the agency handling the investigation. As per the article, an early conclusion indicated the officer was at fault and attempted to drive through the intersection against a red light.
