NAPA (June 1, 2016)- According to the Napa Valley Register, a man identified as Mateo Zavaleta Zarate, 36, of Sonoma, was killed as he assisted in taking down a stage at the BottleRock festival Tuesday afternoon.
Mateo Zarate who worked for Top Productions was struck by a large sized metal beam.
Paramedics were notified of the incident and quickly arrived at the scene and transported the man to Queen of the Valley Med Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Per the Napa Valley Register, the stage they were in the process of taking down was the VIP area of the JaM Cellars Stage.
More information will be released including the victim’s name pending the investigation.
