Nathaniel Maples Killed in Rollover Crash on 42nd Street in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 20, 2025) — Nathaniel James Maples, 23, died two days after his 24th birthday in a rollover crash on 42nd Street in the Mount Hope area of San Diego.
The young man was driving a 2008 Mazda CX5 that overturned during a multi-vehicle collision occurred around 11 p.m. on June 8th in the 500 block of 42nd Street, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner. The motorist reportedly lost control and hit several parked vehicles.
The victim was thrown out of the vehicle and suffered blunt force injuries before dying at the scene of the crash. The report didn’t mention if others were injured.
The San Diego Police Department is heading up the investigation into what happened.
