NATIONAL CITY: 2 Injured in Crash Caused by Pursuit Vehicle on Highland Avenue

NATIONAL CITY (May 23, 2016)- According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a pursuit of a suspect failing to pull over led to a crash on Highland Avenue on Thursday, May 19th.

At roughly 1:00 p.m., the suspect was spotted on Division Street in a Chevy SUV before taking off and crashing into a sedan short distance down the road on Highland Avenue.

Per the article, both parties in the sedan suffered injuries and were hospitalized. One of the victims was described as an elderly man in his 80s.

The suspect immediately jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot before being caught by police officials. The unidentified suspect was taken to a hospital and had not been booked as of Friday morning.
